The Andorra Taste Popular food fair continues to grow, offering more than ever before

Now in its fifth year, Andorra Taste Popular will feature 24 restaurants and patisseries from the Principality.
Now in its fifth year, the popular food fair is once again being hosted by the Andorran town of Escaldes-Engordany as part of the Andorra Taste International High-Mountain Gastronomy Event. The fair brings together the country’s catering sector with Andorrans and the many tourists visiting the Principality. While the professional section of this gathering takes place from 18 to 20 September, with renowned international chefs sharing the stage with Andorran chefs to promote mountain cuisine and its unique characteristics, the weekend event is open to the general public and visitors to the country, celebrating Andorra Taste Popular.
The public section of Andorra Taste has been very well received year after year, and following last year's successful event, which saw an increase in participants, the 2026 edition will once again expand its gastronomic offerings, with 24 tastings on offer. Taking place in Prat del Roure Park (Escaldes-Engordany), the fair will open at midday on Friday 18 September and remain open until Sunday 20 September. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience this open-air venue in the heart of Andorra during extended opening hours, from midday until 11 pm, except on Sunday when Andorra Taste Popular will close at 8 pm. Visitors will be able to enjoy a varied selection of Andorran cuisine, with chefs from local restaurants and patisseries having prepared tapas and small dishes especially for the occasion.
This year's participants include some of the event's most popular favourites: Ana Cerezo, Pernilea, Beç, Can Manel, Celler d’en Toni, Isard Restaurant, Kao Soldeu, Mínim Mood Sensorial, Odetti Bistro, Plató Restaurant, Sol i Neu Hermitage, Jou La Borda and Unnic Casino, as well as the patisseries Sauleda by Júlia, Onix and Youcake by Estopiñán. Following their debut at last year's fair, El Racó del Simó, the Hotel Starc Coure Andorra and the ToC Restaurant & Cocktail Bar are also returning to the event. The patisserie Les Delícies del Jimmy is also taking part in the sweetest section of this gastronomic event once again.
The restaurants run by Catalan chef Nandu Jubany in the Principality are also faithful to the annual Andorra Taste event. This time, Hincha's acclaimed pizzas will make way for the offering from Diamant Espai Gastronòmic, Jubany's restaurant in Andorra la Vella.
The Grand Plaza Hotel has also been a partner of Andorra Taste Popular since its first edition. This year, its restaurant Sottovoce is handing over the spotlight to its other gastronomic venture, Instants.
Rounding off the Andorra Taste Popular 2026 menu are three new additions: the Kram Andorra brasserie and oyster bar, the NØR Restaurant offering Nordic cuisine, and Fismuler, a La Ancha Group classic from Madrid and Barcelona that now aims to conquer the Andorran mountains.
This year's Andorra Taste Popular features a variety of dishes, including plenty of mountain produce such as mushrooms, which are also a seasonal delicacy, as well as locally sourced meats and cheeses from the country's own producers and artisans. As expected, traditional Andorran cuisine features prominently in the tapas selection at Andorra Taste. This year's offerings include trinxat, a brioche stuffed with seasonal mushrooms, raclette cheese and winter truffle, venison meatballs with parmentier and mountain noodles baked in a casserole dish. There will also be dishes with an international twist, made with local produce, such as the smoked salmon smørbrød inspired by NØR Restaurant or the Asian-influenced Peking duck brioche from KAO Soldeu.
As a new feature this year, Andorra Taste Popular is introducing a new payment method for tastings. Previously, payment was made using tokens, the fair’s former official currency, but now payment can be made directly at each stall using a bank card, mobile phone or smartwatch. If you wish to pay in cash, you will need to purchase a rechargeable card at one of the designated ticket offices.
Activities for all ages
Alongside the gastronomic offerings, there is a wide range of free activities to enjoy, making for a first-class entertainment programme for the penultimate weekend in September.
At Andorra Taste Popular, visitors will be able to eat and learn about gastronomy through the numerous show cooking sessions and tasting workshops taking place over the three days of the fair. Andorran restaurateurs and pastry chefs will be the stars of the show, not only during the Andorra Taste tastings, but also during the programme of activities running alongside the fair. There, they will share recipes and insights into Andorran produce. One of the scheduled tasting sessions will be led by Audrey Doré, a French sommelier based in Girona. On Friday, she will share her extensive knowledge of high-altitude wines. However, wine will not be the only focus of this year's tastings, as visitors will also be able to enjoy beer and vermouth tastings.
Some of these activities have been specially designed for children, including cookery workshops where they can prepare simple traditional Andorran recipes. To liven up the fair further, there will also be live music performances featuring local bands and DJs.
