Virgilio Martínez, Andorra Taste Award 2026
In 2026, the Andorra Taste Award, which recognises a commitment to cuisine that reflects a region’s identity and local character, will be presented to one of today’s leading figures, chef Virgilio Martínez, who has worked tirelessly to showcase his region’s culinary heritage.
Beyond his renowned restaurant Central in Lima, the Peruvian chef has spearheaded a colossal research project through Mater Iniciativa to preserve Peru’s traditional knowledge, species and produce. This demonstrates that gastronomy is a tool for understanding and celebrating the region.
Through presenting the award to Virgilio Martínez and inviting true international leaders in haute cuisine who care for and cherish the region and its produce to participate, Andorra Taste will continue to present the most comprehensive narrative surrounding high-mountain cuisine in its fifth edition.

As the guest country, France will play a key role in this year's event, with renowned chefs such as Emmanuel Renaut, Vivien Durand and Dennys Teixeira taking part. Other leading chefs with international renown who will be showcasing their appreciation for local produce include the Italian Riccardo Gaspari, the Austrian Julian Stieger, and the Spaniards Paco Roncero, Iván Cerdeño, and the Torres brothers.
