Carles Gaig

Part of a five-generation saga dedicated to preserving the legacy of traditional Catalan cuisine, Carles Gaig is its ambassador from Barcelona to Singapore.
He grew up in the family restaurant opened by his grandparents in 1869 as the Taberna d'en Gaig. There he made important changes that earned him a Michelin star in 1993 and the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy's Best Restaurant award in 2004. In 2008, he introduced a new gastronomic concept with the opening of Fonda Gaig, a milestone for the Gaig family. Today, the Gaig family runs a trio of prestigious establishments: Gaig Barcelona, Petit Comitè and Gaig Restaurant Singapore.
